Tru international Kenya, Africa

TRU International’s passion is to transform the lives of street kids and the neighborhoods they reside in. John Kung’u, a former street kid and TRU team member, once expressed, “While you can remove a street kid from the streets, it’s only Jesus that can remove the street from the kid.” Redemption Hills Church and TRU International share the belief that genuine and enduring transformation occurs only when individuals have a relationship with Jesus Christ. This is why Redemption Hills Church has taken on TRU International through its Mission Ministry and seeks to support its gospel-centered programs, addressing not only the physical and emotional requirements of street kids and community members but also their spiritual needs.

About

In Kenya, the family is the most important priority for an individual and is a great source of pride. Most Kenyans expect to marry and raise a family eventually. The family unit in Kenya usually includes the extended family. People will frequently interact with their aunts, uncles, and cousins. Kenya is a lower- and middle-income country with wealth distribution, poverty level, and human rights inequality. Kenya’s inequality is reflected by the share of income and social services varying among different population segments. One-tenth of Kenyans have approximately two-fifths of total wealth. Redemption Hills Church, through its Missions Ministry with TRU International, seeks to reach the many abandoned or orphaned children in Nairobi, Kenya, Africa.
